WGL Assessment

Had four days to recover from Zell before heading to Snowdonia for an intense weekend. The Walking Group Leader Award is designed for people taking groups into the non-mountainous areas of Britain's countryside, and I needed to get the qual for running The Duke of Edinburgh's Award at work.

The weather wasn't as bad as I'd feared (only a small amount of snow), but there were a few surprises....including having to do night navigation. Somehow they failed to tell us about that during the training!!

Anyway, the good news was that I passed :-)

Zell am See (Part 1)

This was my first winter trip to Zell am See, having been previously in May (2002). As you would expect, there was a far bigger ski area open this time!!

I was working with a school group from the midlands, so it wasn't all fun....but the conditions were good and it was better than being at home :-))
