Two Countries

Decided to stay in Tasch, as it is about 1/3 price of Zermatt. (Tasch is a giant car park, with a couple of hotels). It is the place where you have to leave your car and get the train up to Zermatt, as it is a "car free" resort. In practice, the roads are really busy up there, it's just milk floats not cars!

One of the great things about Zermatt, is that you can ski across the border into Italy. I had intended to have lunch in Cervinia, but all they seemed to serve was burger and chips. I found a restaurant higher up that did bacon, eggs and cheese...but didn't use their toilets as they were the "hole-in-the-floor" type!

Had a wander round Zermatt this evening. It's quite a nice town, and there are loads of tourist shops to look at. I finally got a "proper" view of the Matterhorn. This morning, it was totally covered in cloud, and although I got good views from Cervinia, it was of the "wrong" side.
